The Gryphon, the Little Girl, and Sometimes Lilia

I awoke in the morning. It was still dark outside, but it will brighten up in half an hour.

Rolled into a ball in the corner of the living room were the peacefully sleeping girl and gryphon. There were no signs of them waking up.

The market should be getting lively soon. I guess I should go get food while they're still sleeping.

The gryphon's portion is quite substantial. The guildmaster said that the costs during these next two weeks will be paid for, so no worries there.

The day truly began as I arrived at the market.

First is the butcher's shop.

「Welcome! Get your fresh meat here～」 (Butcher)

「Do you have lots of large, inexpensive blocks of meat?」 (Izayoi)

「If that's what you're after, then we've got some wild boar. There's been less of it recently, but it's still plenty cheap. Two silver coins for one kilo.」 (Butcher)

I bought 20 kilograms of meat at the butcher's shop. I'm not sure how many days it'll last. Talking a walk around the market afterwards, I purchased fruit, vegetables, fish, and various other foodstuffs.

Having bought cooking utensils and various daily necessities, I threw them into warehouse Astrea.

Finished with my business, I returned to the little girl sitting on the floor and the gryphon waiting at the house.

「We'll eat soon since you're awake. I've got a lot of things to do today.」 (Izayoi)



Day 1, taking care of the little girl and the gryphon, morning.

The gryphon raised a cry in satisfaction as it swallowed the pieces of meat whole. It would appear that one meal would be about three kilograms of meat. According to the little girl, that much meat was enough for one meal during the day...

「......Seems really likes it.」 (Little Girl)

「Eh!? He likes it? Please rethink it gryphon-san!」 (Lilia)

「Good for you, Lilia. You'll never die. You can live on inside of Rigolo.」 (Izayoi)

「......Rigolo.」 (Little Girl)

「It's already been decided!? No way! I don't want this!」 (Lilia)

「You can't do anything about it anymore. Just accept it. I've already accepted being Ichayoi.」 (Izayoi)

「How can this be! I won't accept this, Ichayoi-san——*gufu*」 (Lilia)

「I don't remember giving you permission to call me that.」 (Izayoi)

「Forgive me, I won't say it again so please let go. My face! My face is going to become pale and wrinkled!」 (Lilia)



「By the way, do you have anything planned for today? Or do you plan to stay inside the whole day?」 (Lilia)

「There are various things to take care of. I plan to take them around town.」 (Izayoi)

「Going around town? The gryphon too? ...there was a rumor several days ago that the gryphon tamer came to this town, and master is not in town right now. Of course the townspeople know this. They're quite uneasy you know.」 (Lilia)

「Being stuck inside isn't healthy. And do you think they'll just protect you like they did before? I don't think so. There's a smelly A-rank monster and its tamer. They could have a use.」 (Izayoi)

「......I'm thinking hard about it. Those two...」 (Lilia)

「They could be quite useful. It's to be expected.」 (Izayoi)

「......You really are the worst.」 (Lilia)

The bell within the tower that stood at the center of town sounded.

It's about 9 o'clock.

「I'll be returning to the guild then, but if you plan on going out, let me know. I'll do what I can to keep the guild from going into an uproar.」 (Lilia)

Shall we get started then?

「Please be careful of that person. He's really awful. Let me know if he's mean to you, okay?」 (Lilia)

Scared of Rigolo, Lilia spoke to the little girl who was withdrawn a short distance away. The little girl didn't react to Lilia and gazed back.

Sitting at the edge of the room were the little girl and Rigolo. Responding to my call, she slowly stood up and walked up to me.

I stretched my hands towards her feet. The little girl wanted to step back, but followed my words, shutting her eyes firmly to endure.

I grabbed the hem of her one-piece that was just barely long enough.
