"Welcome to Everlight"
Just when the bright light beam disappeared Nikalas saw a woman walking towards him with a smile. And when he looked closer at the woman, he recognized the woman as Reghys, the same woman he met in Korrinth.
Besides Nikalas Riya stood nervously holding Vivian's wheelchair while Nikalas noticed the engravings and runes on the wall and the ground in the room.
"Come, let's go meet the others"
Reghys waved her hands as Prince Nikalas slowly rolled his wheelchair and moved forward towards the door.
"What!"
The moment Riya stepped out of the room, she saw little green figures running around in the hallway laughing and when the green figures saw them, they quickly ran away.
"Don't be afraid, they are just goblins"
Seeing the shock on Riya's face, Reghys said.
However, the shock on Riya's face did not fade away as she saw a couple of short bulky bearded men
"Good evening, Guardian"
Reghys nodded and walked past them while Nikalas and Riya looked at the dwarves with gaped mouths.
"Dwarves"
Nikalas mumbled under his breath and couldn't guess what the heck is Everlight where goblins and dwarves could run around with smiles on their faces.
"Amaryll"
As the four of them reached the throne hall, Reghys called Amaryll.
While they were waiting, Nikalas and Riya felt dizzy just by looking at the throne hall.
It was nothing like the throne hall in Korrinth and in fact, the throne hall he was at must be at least twenty times larger than the throne hall in Korrinth and the decorations, windows, and the carpet underneath him, the seats were high end and extravagant.
"Wow"
Riya felt tiny standing in the huge s.p.a.cious room and she could guess each item in the throne hall would cost thousands of gold coins or even life energy stones.
"Who is he?"
Nikalas couldn't ask after everything he had just seen.
"Why did you call me?"
Riya and Nikalas turned their head in the direction of the voice to see a girl walking towards them. As she got closer, Nikalas's jaw almost dropped onto the ground seeing her. The girl before him was extremely beautiful, even Darlene who was the prettiest girl in Korrinth couldn't match her beauty.
She had glossy golden hair and wore a green dress with little shiny stones etched on. Even Riya who is a girl felt her heart skip a beat when she saw the girl and wanted to befriend her.
"Oh"
Seeing the newcomers, a sudden smile appeared on Amaryll's face
"You're Nikalas, Riya, and Vivian right?"
The two of them were still in shock as they stood without uttering a word as Amaryll chuckled seeing the shocked faces.
"h.e.l.lo"
Reghys's voice brought back Riya and Nikalas out of the shock as they nodded
"Alright Amaryll, you know what to do with them. See you guys later"
As she said, Reghys left the throne hall in a flash leaving them with Amaryll.
"Elf"
Nikalas mumbled when the wind pushed Amaryll's hair and revealed the pointy ear.
"Human"
Amaryll said and chuckled which made Nikalas embarra.s.sedly smile.
Usually, Amaryll would feel hostile around the n.o.bles and anyone from the royal families but she had already heard Nikalas's story from Reghys.
So she felt sympathy towards them and wanted to give them home just like Don did to her and the elves.
"Pel, Xeq"
Just after she called, Nikalas saw another two goblins wearing white hats on their head running towards them.
"I'm going out for a while, just add some salt to the soups and let it rest. Do you understand me?"
Hearing Arrora the goblins nodded with enthusiasm while Riya could promise that she saw an evil grin appearing on their face for a moment
"Not understand wane, xeq todarit es our luckrit dal"
(We understand girl, Xeq today is our lucky day)
The goblins chuckled mischievously
"DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT TOUCHING THE FOOD"
The goblins' chuckle on their disappeared and fear appeared on their faces hearing Amaryll's commanding voice.
It turned out that goblins were good at being a.s.sistants and despite the language barrier, they were very helpful to Arrora in the treasury work and cooking. However when Amaryll was not around, these two always try to steal food before even the serving starts even though they would get the same food as the others.
"Don't make me break your hands, greenies"
Nikalas saw the goblins run away shivering as Amaryll laughed.
"Let's go meet, Knight"
As she said Arrora gestured at them to follow her but after walking a few steps Amaryll realized that it would be hard for Nikalas to keep up with her.
"Catalie"
The moment Amaryll called the name, Riya and Nikalas saw a little girl appearing out of thin air before them as Riya almost jumped back like a scared rabbit when she saw the girl.
"Hi Amaryll, oh yeah new friends"
Catalie clapped her hands in delight and joy when she saw Nikalas and Riya
"I'm Catalie Lise Leavitt, everyone calls me Catalie here except for my brothers Don and Knight. You can call me Catalie"
Without them knowing the little girl's face and her weird name brought a smile on their faces as Nikalas said
"Im Nikalas,nice to meet you Catalie"
"I'm Riya and this is her royal highness, Vivian."
Riya nervously introduced herself and then Catalie's smile on her face froze when she saw Vivian
"She's cursed"
"Did Reghys tell you that?"
Amaryll asked as Catalie shook her little head
"No, I can see the cursed energy running through her body"
Hearing her Nikalas became even more worried about his mother just like Riya
"But don't worry, my brother can do anything"
Catalie's smile reappeared on her face as she said
"Catalie where's Knight? Can you take us there?"
"Yes but I'm not carrying you"
Nikalas and Riya didn't understand what she meant by carrying but they got the answer as they started to float.
"What's happening"
Riya couldn't help but shout seeing she's floating around in the air with Vivian and Prince Nikalas without anything to grab or hold onto.
It took a few minutes to leave the throne hall and reach the outside. When they stepped outside, they were welcomed by magnificent and grand scenery.
Unlike in Korrinth, there was no rain or gloomy clouds but the sky above them had millions of stars and the full moon shining. Even with just the light of the moon, Nikalas and Riya could see the beautiful flowers and plants dancing in the wind.
"Beautiful isn't it?"
Amaryll asked as Nikalas and Riya nodded with wide opened eyes.
As they were floating to see Knight, everything they saw shocked and surprised them. Nikalas heard about the oppression of the other races by the humans but the elves, dwarves, demihumans, and everyone he saw had nothing but smiles on their faces. And what surprised him most was everyone seemed like they were friends and families despite the racial difference, even the elves and dwarves seemed thick friends while constructing a wooden building which resembled a big store.
Nikalas could see the lines of elegant buildings in the distance and every building had two or three floors.
"Who lives there?"
Even the n.o.bles he had seen in Korrith did not live in houses such as this.
" Everyone except for some of us who lives in the castle"
Amaryll said as Nikalas couldn't believe it for a moment. Every house looked even more beautiful when the people lit the lanterns and candles inside.
"Beautiful"
Riya mumbled when she saw the lake and the golden paddy fields far away from the buildings.
"Yes, it's one of our main food sources"
Amaryll said.
The dwarves were expert farmers as well as builders, in just a few months they turned the empty gra.s.slands into astonishing farming lands with various types of vegetables and crops. And with the help and caring of the elves, the fields had grown exceptionally well and provided the needs of people of Everlight and became revenue for Everlight by selling them to Emir who had little to no farming lands of their own.
Besides the farming lands, there were a bunch of buildings built on the sh.o.r.e for fishing.
"There he is"
After a while of gawking at everything, Nikalas heard Amaryll and looked at the small hilltop to see a huge tree and a figure under it.
Riya's heart started to beat so fast as she got closer to the figure which seemed nothing like a human or even close to a human. Riya couldn't guess why there's a magical beast roaming around or why they are walking towards it.
"Relax Riya, except his c.o.c.ky att.i.tude he's really a good person but you didn't hear this from me "
"Person?"
Riya swallowed nervously and tried not to shout or scream as they finally reached the hilltop.
"Hey Knight, we have new citizens"
Knight turned around and saw Nikalas and Riya who were on the verge of fainting in fear.
"Welcome to Everlight"
As he said, the surrounding suddenly became brighter as the moon descended near them.
"Show off"
Amaryll mumbled as Nikalas and Riya were able to see Knight more clearly. Nikalas couldn't believe the magical beast before him was talking like a human but at this point, he got used to the surprises.
"How? You're a grandmaster?"
Nikalas couldn't help but ask as Knight shook his head
"Not precisely, me and Don are different"
"Isn't he a master level mage?"
Hearing Nikalas, Knight chuckled and ruffled his mane
"Master level? You guys in Korrinth has no idea who you're dealing with "
