Mo Wen was immediately exposed to the moonlight. At the same time, a terrifying aura swept across the heavens and earth, coming closer and closer to him. "Oh no!" Mo Wen muttered to himself. He must have been discovered by an illusionary beast!

When he had chosen this place to hide in earlier, there had been no illusionary beasts anywhere near him. Mo Wen was also confident in his breath holding technique, meaning not even a martial arts grandmaster can discover him if they were far away enough. The only way a martial arts grandmaster could have found him was if they had stumbled across him by also choosing this cave to hide in. That was unlikely.

It must be that Mo Wen had been discovered by an illusionary beast which had approached him without any warning signs at all.

The beast that had located him was an extremely powerful one. The terrifying aura emanating from it made Mo Wen shudder. It was definitely an illusionary beast in the martial arts grandmaster cla.s.s!

Mo Wen did not wait for the illusionary beast to dig open the cave completely. His figure flickered and a gold light enveloped his body. In the next moment, he was completely covered in a s.h.i.+mmering golden light, like a Golden Body Luohan. He scrambled up to the top of the cave and shattered the rocks that were blocking his way. Mo Wen turned into a ray of gold light and shot out from the mountain.

As he flew out, the cave collapsed completely. A strong force as he flew out crushed what remained of the cave, causing the surrounding rocks to be pulverized.

Mo Wen hurriedly turned to look behind him as he fled. He realized that there was an enormous being in front of where the cave had once stood. It was 60 meters tall and looked like a small moving mountain.

The enormous being was covered in brown fur. It was enveloped in grey light and Mo Wen could not see it clearly. However, he could tell that it was a bear-type monstrous beast. It was a brown bear that lived in the mountains.

The blood-thirstiness it exuded could almost cover the entire patch of forest. In terms of cultivation, it was just as powerful as the Fire Snake King and the Fire Scorpion King. It was probably only slightly weaker than the Giant Crocodile Beast King.

Mo Wen was no match for such a terrifying beast. He could only flee. He did not even hesitate before charging into the forest.

The bear quickly discovered that its prey had escaped and was trying to flee. It roared angrily and turned, stomping across a vast distance as it pursed Mo Wen.

The brown bear kept roaring angrily. The roars formed sound waves that spread wildly in the direction Mo Wen was running in.

The intangible soundwaves moved very quickly and were almost faster than the regular speed of sound. They caught up with Mo Wen in the blink of an eye and enveloped him. Mo Wen's body shook for a moment. Shaking off the effects, he continued to move forward.

The enormous brown bear had attacked him with sound waves, but even though Mo Wen's cultivation was not powerful, his soul power was far greater than that of a regular martial arts grandmaster. The roars of the enormous brown bear were too weak to do any damage to him.

The noise of the bear grew softer and softer. Fortunately for Mo Wen, a monstrous beast like the brown bear was not adept at speed. Mo Wen's double use of the Glory of Wind allowed him to completely shake the creature off.

Only Mo Wen would have been able to escape from the brown bear's pursuit so easily. Any other warrior would have found it very difficult to deal with the soundwave a.s.saults of the brown bear, as well as having the necessary speed to escape.

The soundwave attack of a beast king was difficult to withstand even if the victim was a pract.i.tioner at the later stage of the Golden Elixir Realm.

Mo Wen became more vigilant after he fled from the pursuit. He found a secluded cave and prepared to cultivate his inner Qi. He was shocked when he was almost immediately discovered by another illusionary beast.

Furthermore, the monstrous beast that had discovered him this time was not a beast king, but a sixth rank monstrous beast with slightly slower cultivation levels. Its lack of power meant Mo Wen was able to swiftly kill the creature as soon as it entered the cave.

Mo Wen was surprised to face two attacks in such quick succession. Putting it down to coincidence, he looked forward to a calmer few hours ahead.

However, something unexpected happened. Less than 15 minutes later, another illusionary beast found him. This time, it was a low ranking fifth rank monstrous beast.

Mo Wen was now even more shocked. How could fifth and sixth rank illusionary beasts discover him? How were they managing to find him? The first time might have been chance, but he had now been discovered several times. It definitely wasn't an accident.

Mo Wen sat in the cave in shock. After about 10 minutes, another illusionary beast found him. It was as if it knew Mo Wen was hiding inside. It charged into the cave.

All in all, about seven or eight illusionary beasts discovered Mo Wen in less than an hour. Even though their cultivation levels were not high and they did not pose much of a threat to him, they affected his cultivation and the continual disruptions meant he could not recover his inner Qi.

Finally, Mo Wen sensed the ripple of a terrifying aura as it approached him from afar. Even though it was not a beast king, it was a monstrous beast at the top of the seventh rank. Mo Wen was no match for it.

There was nothing Mo Wen could do. He could only abandon the cave and flee.

Mo Wen found three or four caves one after another, but the results were all the same. Everywhere he went, he was discovered by illusionary beasts. It was as if the places he hid in were like lightbulbs in the dark night. He could not hide from the illusionary beasts at all.

"What's happening!"

Mo Wen fled from the cave again and flew onto a cliff. He looked down at the forest below with a dark expression.

After several attempts, he had reached the conclusion that he could not hide at all in this world. He would be discovered by illusionary beasts no matter where he went. He would get no chance to rest at all, much less replenish his inner Qi.

"If I can't recover my inner Qi, then doesn't that mean that this place will force every human warrior here to their death?"

Mo Wen took a deep breath. If he could not recover his inner Qi and kept being disturbed, then human warriors would not have to wait for the seventh rank beast king of the fire domain to appear. They would just die at the hands of these illusionary beasts.

"What to do?" Mo Wen had not expected the path before him to be a dead end. It should not be like this!

Since the tower spirit had created a death game like this, then surely it would not have simply deprived the human warriors of any chance at all. If so, then the ending had already been set. Why would the game even be taking place? There must be a solution.

There was a glint of light in Mo Wen's eyes and he stared at the forest below. He only knew a little of the rules in this world. There were mysterious things that he still did not understand. Perhaps the answer lay in something that he still did not know about.

Since there were things like healing light and unsealing light, and since warriors could use their inner Qi and spiritual power, then there must definitely be other items that could help human warriors.

Mo Wen's figure flickered and he jumped off the cliff, hurtling towards the illusionary beasts prowling through the forest.

He could only find out more about the secrets of this world by killing as many illusionary beasts as he could. Everything that was now happening had only started after he had begun to kill the creatures.

Mo Wen had just entered the forests when the illusionary beasts sensed him. Immediately, one of them approached him.

Mo Wen did not wait for the creature to reach him. He held the flying dagger spiritual weapon in his hand and leaped at them before they could attack. With his current abilities, he would be able to kill even monstrous beasts in the late seventh rank.

The glint of his blade shone as he leaped at beast after beast.

Swallowing inner Qi recovery pills from his Medicine Spiritual Ring whenever he needed to, Mo Wen continued to kill the illusionary beasts. Even though he could not solve the problem of his inner Qi being depleted, he could prolong the amount of time before it ran out.

When Mo Wen encountered illusionary beasts of the fifth and sixth rank, he did not use his inner Qi. He simply used his powerful physical strength to tear the beasts apart.

However, after half a day of killing beasts, Mo Wen had not gained any benefit.

Finally, after Mo Wen encountered and killed an early seventh rank monstrous beast, there was a flicker of light. Then, a ball of red light appeared.

Once again, healing light had appeared.

There were four grades of healing light: low, medium, top and superb.

The different grades of healing light had different healing limits. It was rumored that the top grade healing light could regrow limbs and organs. The superb grade healing light could heal everything, as long as the person was not dead.

The healing light that Mo Wen received was a low-grade healing light. It could only heal ordinary internal injuries and external injuries that were not serious.

Mo Wen looked thoughtfully at the healing light. "Could it be that items will only appear when you kill illusionary beasts of the seventh rank and above?"

He had gained items previously when he had killed illusionary beasts that were above the seventh rank. Nothing had appeared when he had killed all of those illusionary beasts which were below that level. At most, there were only s.h.i.+mmering lights that unsealed his cultivation levels. They had not been able to replenish his inner Qi.

Yet, killing illusionary beasts that were of the seventh rank and above did not mean that items would definitely appear. He had also killed four or five illusionary beasts at the beginning of the seventh rank, but nothing had fallen.

It was evident that the appearance of an item was a probability thing. Everything depended on luck. Furthermore, only illusionary beasts of above the seventh rank would drop items.

After reaching this conclusion, Mo Wen did not kill any more illusionary beasts of below the seventh rank. He would just dodge anything else that appeared. Illusionary beasts like that could only unseal a tiny portion of his cultivation and would not drop any item. They were not very valuable.

It was fortunate that illusionary beasts were everywhere in this world. There were quite a few monstrous beasts that were of or above the seventh rank. In just a while, Mo Wen managed to find about six or seven of them.

After he killed the first monstrous beast which was at the beginning of the seventh rank, a light, different from any of the previous lights, appeared. It was a ball of blue light.

Mo Wen held the ball of blue light in his hand with a hint of joy in his eyes.

Information about the blue light immediately appeared in his mind when he held the light.

Indeed, his earlier conjectures were correct. The item dropping was still the problem. While the tower spirit would not give warriors the opportunity to go into seclusion and cultivate, it would give them something else to make up for it. Or, one could say that there was no need at all for human warriors to go into seclusion and cultivate in this world. It was a waste of time.

Recovery Light!

The ball of blue light was called the Recovery Light. It was aptly named: the blue light could help to recover one's inner Qi. Warriors' inner Qi would be significantly healed when it was used. None of Mo Wen's spiritual pills could compare to the recovery abilities of this light.
