A glint shone in her eyes as a smile crept up her thin lips. "It's time to go on hunting Lieutenant, we've got a prey to catch."

"Yes Princess."

"Get ready, we will leave in two... " her eyes squinted as she gazed off into the sky. "Run hybrid princess run, I'll catch you no matter how fast or hard you run."

~Kingdom of Alacia~

Queen Marceline swam around in her garden, she moved up to a dying seaweed and inspected it. "Hmm, perhaps a little magic would help you grow better" she said to the seaweed.

She held it in her hands gently, after a few seconds, her palm glowed with a translucent green light and the seaweed came back to life, regaining its colour. "There, that's better" she smiled gently at the seaweed.

Three mermaids swam into the garden and bowed to her. "Greetings your Majesty."

"Yes, what news you have?" She replied without turning to face them, her smile faded fast from her face.

"The Elves... "

"Don't say it. Don't tell me they have her!" she interrupted Muirgen.

"No, my Queen!"

"It is as Muirgen said your Majesty, even the Elves are having a hard time getting her", Doris spoke up.

Queen Marceline let out a sigh of relief, then turned around to face them.

"So, what news you have, Muirgen, Doris, Maraja? Didn't I say lure her?"

"Forgive us your Majesty" they chorused.

"Due to her power surge back then, Elven soldiers are scattered everywhere in the forest, searching for her," Maraja explained.

"We couldn't hide in the forest anymore, we had to retreat lest the Elves found us," Doris added.

"At this rate, they are likely to get her first. This is not good!" Queen Marceline thought out loud.

"True your majesty, but... "

"Yes?" Queen Marceline interrupted Doris.

"Like I said earlier, even the Elves are having a hard time getting her, meaning that even they might not be able capture her. I've got to hand it to her, your... I mean, the hybrid has what it takes to elude them each and every time."

"Don't forget, she outran the human troops and now she has stayed days in Elven land and still haven't been caught. So it won't be easy still. We haven't ran out of luck yet," Maraja chipped in.

Doris swan closer to the Queen and said, "Your Majesty, there is still hope, luck might yet be on our side and we would get her. All that remains is for her to leave the forest and we capture her."

"True. I have listened to you all, I have fate that she would be mine. Like I told Alvaro, if push comes to shove, one of you would inform her about her mother and that we have her. She would have no choice but come, then I can use her against Isadora."

"Then I can have Eric's body back. Oh, my beloved son, mama would soon bring you home where you belong," Queen Marceline thought.

A small smile broke across her lips, illuminating her pretty face. "You may go, stay out of sight and wait outside the forest or in the water close by. You can't be seen, kill anyone who sees you."

"Yes, your Majesty!!"

They bowed and swam out of the garden.

"Isadora, just you wait. I would take everything you hold dear away from you."

**************

Princess Kaka swam around her kingdom, the merfolks greeted her as she pa.s.sed by. She arrived at a house and knocked twice.

A soft feminine voice was heard from within, "Come in."

She turned the door k.n.o.b and pushed the door open, then swam in. Inside the house, she met a mermaid lying lazily in a sea sh.e.l.l.

She stayed straight, arms crossed in front of her bosom. "Hmm, still lazing around this late in the morning, Delphine?"

At the sound of the familiar voice, the little mermaid jolted up from her sea sh.e.l.l with mouth wide open.

After few seconds, she quickly bowed her head and apologized. "Princess Kaia, I am so sorry for not noticing your presence. Forgive me," she apologized with a shaky voice.

"Its okay, now where is that sister of yours?"

"Dariyah is in her room, in front of her mirror as always."

"Thank you."

She swam in the direction of her friend's room. They have been friends since they were little, Dariyah's parents worked for her mother and that was how they knew each other.

Right now, she needed her help with a merman, her lover. Dariyah always helped her stake outside their secret meeting place, when she was with him and distracted the guards if any came close by. All of these were done because of her overbearing mother.

Ever since her brother died, her mother became clear about lovers and now since she was the only child left, she had to marry a n.o.ble and one from Alacia. So meeting with her lover was done in secret, because of his low status.

She got to her friend's room and yelled her name. "Dariyah!!!"

Shocked, she dropped the mirror in her hands and stiffened with fear. Only her mother called her that way and that was when she did something wrong.

Princess Kaia burst into a round of laughter seeing the frightening look on her friend's face.

She turned around and glared daggers at her friend. "Kaia!! What did you do that for?"

"You should have seen your face, hahaha haha. The look on your face, that was priceless."
